PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy The Kid (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Von Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Jimmy The Kid!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Von Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Dillan Fox and Gregory Folan.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hammer lands a jab to The Kid's midsection.
The Kid throws a low kick, looking for Hammer's leg but Hammer calmly moves out of range.
Jab, cross, leg kick. Nice combination by Hammer!
The Kid will need to close the distance a bit before he attacks - that leg kick was thrown from too far away.
The Kid takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Hammer closes the distance and lands a one-two.
Hammer connects with the punch.
The Kid tried to score with a low kick but Hammer checks it.
The Kid takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Hammer misses with a few strikes there.
The Kid takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Hammer lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but The Kid circles away quickly and effectively.
Hammer avoids the head kick by The Kid.
Hammer throws a shot to the body.
A jab from Hammer does it's job there.
Hammer connects with a looping right hand.
Hammer looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Hammer lands a body shot.
The fighters circle momentarily. Hammer darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
A shot to the liver by Hammer. Beautiful body shot.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Hammer misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
The Kid misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
The Kid gets cracked there but stands up to it.
The Kid goes for a double leg but Hammer avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Hammer continues to drive forward.
The Kid goes for a takedown in the clinch but Hammer prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy The Kid. That's going to take a lot out of him.
The Kid wants a takedown but no success here.
The Kid has been working on his balance at Team Hopkins, so perhaps that has help him stuff some of the takedown attempts by Hammer.

The Kid lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.

The Kid is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Hammer sees it coming and defends easily.

The Kid is trying to work for a kimura but Hammer is defending well.

Hammer controlling the position for now.
Hammer has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. The Kid is working away from the top position though.

Hammer is defending against the submission attempts here by The Kid.

Hammer is trying to stand back up but The Kid is controlling him

The Kid has hold of the far side arm. He's working for the Kimura, can Hammer defend it? The Kid steps over the head and cranks it - Hammer is tapping out! That was textbook stuff right there - nice submission victory for The Kid!
