And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Ryan Newton!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Newton shoots for a takedown but Huss saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Huss throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Newton.
Huss will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Huss keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Ryan Newton seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Newton shoots in and drives through. Huss sprawls well.
Newton looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Huss has hold of one of Newton's legs. Newton is fighting the takedown attempt but Huss gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

Huss prevents Newton from getting back to his feet.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Huss really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Newton changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Huss tries to avoid it but Newton manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Huss to the ground. Huss escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Newton tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Huss smiles and moves away.

Huss shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Newton sprawls well. Newton wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Huss gets slowly back to his feet.

Newton goes for a double leg but Huss avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Huss continues to drive forward.

Huss is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Well Huss has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
