The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smiths keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Colvin throws a right and a left that both miss.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!

Smiths closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Smiths is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Smiths is working for a kimura but Colvin is defending it quite comfortably.
Colvin won't allow Smiths to pass to mount.
Smiths seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Colvin does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Smiths looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Smiths wants to control but Colvin is keeping him busy.
Smiths trying to pass the guard but Colvin defending well.

Smiths is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Colvin sees it coming and defends easily.

Smiths is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Colvin has managed to free his arm - good work.

Smiths content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Smiths moves into full mount! Colvin won't be happy about that!
Smiths looking to finish Colvin with some ground and pound. This is bad for Colvin!


It looks like Bunny Colvin has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Smiths controlling from mount.

Smiths is working for a guillotine from mount but Colvin frees his head quite easily.
Smiths lands a heavy elbow.


That has opened up Bunny Colvin's cut even more.
