Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Shang Chi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Domingo Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, for the lightweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 9 - 0, fighting out of London, Shang Chi!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 15 - 3, fighting out of Amsterdam, Domingo Perez!
The judges for this bout are Lou da Vinci, Reed Andrews and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chi gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Chi struggles to land a body shot inside as Perez controls his hands.
Chi swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Chi keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Perez's efforts to push away.
Perez tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Chi just stands there and leans against the cage.
Perez looking for a takedown.
Chi pushes off an throws an elbow but Perez leans to the side and avoids it. We're back to clinching against the cage.

Perez manages to pull guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

Perez is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Perez is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Chi wants to stand but Perez has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Chi looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Perez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chi doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chi manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Perez working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Chi has passed into half guard!

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chi is trying to get back to his feet now but his leg is trapped.
Perez is trying to maintain the position but Chi is very close to passing his half guard.
Chi prevents Perez from improving his position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Perez preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

Perez looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Chi decides to stand and escape the position.
Chi cracks Perez with a right hand to the side of the head.
Shang Chi is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Perez lands with an overhand left.
Perez connects with a right hand. Chi shakes it off.
Perez tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Chi was well out of range. Poor timing from Perez.
Perez misses with a low kick.
Chi tries to clinch up.
Chi looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Chi ducks right into an uppercut from Perez.
Perez connects with a leg kick. Chi looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Chi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chi lands a nice leg kick that just misses Perez's sensitive parts.
Perez comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Shang Chi seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Chi swings away with a leg kick that misses.
Perez scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Chi on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
Chi attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Perez lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.
A looping hook to the body misses from Chi. Perez does a little dance to reset his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Domingo Perez dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Chi lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Chi turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
Chi thumps Perez with a low kick.
An inside leg kick lands from Chi.
Perez takes one to the side of the head.
Perez takes a swing at Chi's ribcage but misses.
Chi darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
Chi misses with a wild body shot.
Chi is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Perez throws a leg kick which misses Chi's front leg but catches the back leg as Chi tries to avoid it.
Perez takes a swing at Chi's ribcage but misses.
Chi scores with a crisp jab that stopped Perez in his tracks.

Chi connects with an inside leg kick.
Perez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Chi checks it well.
Perez with a hook.
Chi throws a solid leg kick but Perez takes the impact on his shin and smiles at Chi.

Chi pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Perez keeps Chi at a distance using the push kick.
Chi throws a half hearted mid kick.
Chi connects with a solid leg kick.
Chi throws a right and a left that Perez avoids nicely.
Chi takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Chi works Perez's body with a nice hook.
Perez chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Chi can pounce on him.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Perez scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Perez takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Chi scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Perez doesn't seem bothered though.
Chi is looking to wear down Perez with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.
Perez attempts a low kick but it misses it's target.
Chi lunges at Perez with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Perez's hand.
Chi misses with a few strikes there.
Perez on the wrong end of a nice hook.
Perez walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Chi checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Chi takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Perez stuns Chi with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Chi lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Perez circles away quickly and effectively.
The fighters circle momentarily. Perez darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Perez takes a swing at Chi's ribcage but misses.
Chi lands with a straight right. Perez didn't see that one coming.
Chi is looking to score with low kicks.
Chi takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Chi throws a low kick but his opponent is out of range.

and Perez counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Chi!
Chi is letting Perez control him for a moment.

Perez tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

This has been an exciting period of action!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!
Perez wants to lay and pray for a moment but Chi keeps working.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Shang Chi dominated that second round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!


Chi thuds his right hand into Perez's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Chi lands with a nice low kick. That'll leave a bruise.

Chi drives through and clinches with Perez against the cage.
Chi blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Perez is trying to push Chi away but Chi has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.
Perez blocks an elbow strike.
Perez fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Perez tries to pull guard but Chi holds him up against the cage and eventually Perez drops back down to his feet.

Shang Chi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Domingo Perez.

Chi tries to work over Perez's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Perez tries to pull guard but Chi won't allow it.
Perez goes for a takedown in the clinch but Chi prevents it.
Perez fails to pull the fight into his guard.

A short right from Chi on the inside.
Chi lands a right uppercut that snaps the head of Perez backwards.
Perez is looking to take this one to the mat.
Perez is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Chi to keep the fight standing.
Perez tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Chi's elbow.

Chi misses with a hook to the ribs.

Perez wants to control the position but Chi says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Chi prevents Perez from improving his position.
Perez tries to kick Chi off but Chi keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.
Perez is looking to get full guard. It looks like he might be successful but at the last minute Chi jumps into side control!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Chi decides to stand back up. Chi steps back and let's Perez get back to his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Chi takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.
Chi uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Chi lands a pitter patter jab to the forehead of his opponent.


Perez is rocked!
Chi avoids the head kick by Perez.
Perez is still on wobbly legs! Can Chi finish him?
Perez is looking to land body kicks.
Perez bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Perez fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Chi manages to avoid it.
Perez seems to have recovered his senses.

Perez throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.

Perez's leg has a nasty welt from taking a succession of leg kicks. That must be slowing him down.

Chi throws a looping overhand right but Perez ducks down to avoid it.
Chi takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Perez lands a slapping body shot.
Chi misses with a head kick.
Perez jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Chi lands a nice shot that snaps Perez's head back.
Perez throws a predictable looking body shot
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.

Perez misses with a low kick.
Chi checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Perez is looking to land body kicks.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Perez.
Chi fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Perez manages to avoid it.

And that's the end of the fight!
Shang Chi showed his dominance in that final round.
