Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Lee Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Abdoul Murquite (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Murquite has chosen Não Posso Mais as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Hilo, Lee Jackson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 15 - 9 - 0, fighting out of New York, Abdoul Murquite!
The judges for this bout are Kenichi Hosakawa, Hirohito Nitta and Yuuki Gou.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jackson throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Murquite closes this distance looking for a takedown but Jackson circles away.
Murquite fails with a takedown attempt.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Jackson checks a leg kick.

Jackson dives in and scores a takedown into Murquite's guard.

Jackson has gone for a leg lock! Murquite slips out almost immediately though and dives into Jackson's guard.
Jackson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Murquite manages to get himself to full guard.

Jackson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Jackson wants to pass the guard but Murquite is defending well.

Jackson is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.

Jackson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Murquite has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Jackson has managed to get both his arms back between Murquite's legs - danger averted.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Jackson throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Murquite works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We're going to have a standup here because Lee Jackson wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Jackson throws a hook but Murquite blocks it.
Murquite keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Murquite tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. Jackson manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Murquite gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Jackson counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Murquite's guard now.
Lee Jackson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Abdoul Murquite.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Jackson won't allow Murquite to sweep him here.
Jackson slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Jackson wants to control from the top but Murquite keeps moving.

Murquite has his foot on Jackson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Jackson works his way back into a safe position though.

Jackson swings around for an armbar but Murquite sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Jackson's guard.
The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.
Murquite working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Jackson's head.
Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
The fighters are tangled up in the ropes here. We might need a restart if the fighters can't break free themselves.
Murquite throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Murquite postures up in Jackson's guard and throws a big left but Jackson blocks it.

Jackson looking to hit a scissor sweep but Murquite is one step ahead there.

Jackson has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Murquite is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jackson.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
You can see the frustration on Jackson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jackson is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Murquite's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Jackson wants to control but Murquite is keeping busy and won't allow it.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Murquite pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. Jackson is keeping the position for now.
Murquite must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Murquite wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lee Jackson dominated that round.
That's time! Jackson's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Murquite throws a head kick but Jackson moves out of range.
Jackson lands a right hook to the body.
Jackson cracks Murquite with an open hand slap.
Murquite tries to close the distance and clinch up but Jackson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
An inside leg kick from Murquite misses.
Some wild striking there from Jackson.

Murquite shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Jackson manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Jackson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

Jackson is looking for a triangle but Murquite pushes his legs off easily.
Lee Jackson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Jackson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Murquite is aware though and is defending well.

Jackson looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.

Jackson is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Murquite has his hands clasped together but Jackson extends and breaks Murquite's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Jackson.
