Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Deangelo Brady (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roman Ship (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ship with a lazy takedown attempt
and Brady counters with a one-two to the body.

Ship closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Brady to the mat! Brady manages to get full guard.

Ship wants to control from the top but Brady keeps moving.

Ship stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Brady swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Brady wants to control the action but instead Ship gets a body lock and reverses into Brady's guard! Nice work!

Ship wants to control but Brady is keeping him busy.
Brady tries to buck Ship off but Ship is having none of it.

Ship looking to control but instead Brady has slipped a leg in, to regain half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Ship. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

and Brady counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Brady.
Ship changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Brady fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Brady tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Ship manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Ship fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brady sprawls well initially but Ship persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Ship looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

No joy there for Ship, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ship dives in and grabs Brady's left leg, looking for a takedown. Brady pushes down on Ship's head and hops out.
Brady shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Ship pinned against the cage. Ship gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Brady misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Brady gets tackled into the cage by Ship. Ship maintains the clinch.
Brady is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.
Ship is looking to take this one to the mat.

Ship gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Brady regains guard.

Brady is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ship is aware though and is defending well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Let's hope that Ship has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
Ship is keen to just control but Brady is a slippery customer.

Ship feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
