Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Allistair Trenholm!
The judges for this bout are Ian Loll, Robert Douchet and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Trenholm drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Charlsworth is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Charlsworth is trying to keep Trenholm in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Ethan Charlsworth just wasn't active enough.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Charlsworth.

Charlsworth circles away from the clinch attempt.
Trenholm tries a head kick but it misses.
Charlsworth fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Charlsworth throws a hook but Trenholm avoids it easily.
Charlsworth tries to clinch up.
Trenholm wants to clinch up but Charlsworth keeps it at a distance.
Charlsworth is looking to clinch but Trenholm is avoiding it.
Trenholm tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Charlsworth paws at him with a jab and circles away.

so Trenholm counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.

Trenholm avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Charlsworth looking to hit a scissor sweep but Trenholm is one step ahead there.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Charlsworth tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Trenholm slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Charlsworth trying to control the position.
Trenholm must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.

We're going to have a standup here because Ethan Charlsworth wasn't active enough for the referee's liking.
Charlsworth is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Trenholm.
Trenholm displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Charlsworth throws out the jab.
Charlsworth looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
A nice inside leg kick there by Charlsworth. That's going to slow Trenholm down.
Charlsworth shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Trenholm eats them both and turns towards Charlsworth to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
Charlsworth misses with a series of wild punches.

Trenholm tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Charlsworth manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Charlsworth throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Trenholm closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Charlsworth's guard.
Trenholm slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Allistair Trenholm dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Charlsworth blocks a head kick by Trenholm.
Charlsworth throws a series of punches but Trenholm moves out of range.
A big right from Charlsworth misses.
The fight stays on the outside here - Charlsworth looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Charlsworth lands a jab-cross combination.
Charlsworth tries to close the distance and clinch but Trenholm swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Trenholm stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Charlsworth.
Trenholm shoots in for a double leg but Charlsworth sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Charlsworth looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
A punch combination from Charlsworth misses.
Trenholm is breathing heavily.
Trenholm misses with a wild body shot.

Charlsworth shoots in and gets a takedown into Trenholm's guard.
We've been informed that Trenholm has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.

Charlsworth with a flurry of punches that miss.
Charlsworth is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.

Charlsworth drops back looking for a leg! Trenholm is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Trenholm manages to kick Charlsworth off! Charlsworth jumps back into Trenholm's guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Trenholm looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Trenholm can do anything to dispel that myth.
Charlsworth wants to control from the top but Trenholm keeps moving.
Charlsworth connects with a couple of short punches.
Charlsworth pushing down on Trenholm's thigh, trying to pass to half guard. He's managed it... Nice work.
Allistair Trenholm has got the better of the ground game so far.

Charlsworth is trying to control. Trenholm wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
It looks like Charlsworth is going to stand back up.

Charlsworth is looking for a kimura here.
Trenholm is not content to let Charlsworth control the position.
Charlsworth tries to pass the half guard into mount. Trenholm knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

Charlsworth drops an elbow to the side of Trenholm's head.
Charlsworth throwing shots but Trenholm is blocking nicely.
Charlsworth passes the guard and advances to mount!

Trenholm tries to improve his position but Charlsworth has taken his back! Charlsworth has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Trenholm tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Charlsworth pushes Trenholm away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
