Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tetsuya Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Ferk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Ferk has chosen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=prcKWXLQhPg as his entrance music. Marco Ferk will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Tetsuya Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marco Ferk!
The judges for this bout are Sergei Dronov, Fedor Mirinova and Konstantin Menshow.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ferk tries for a takedown but Tate circles away easily

and Tate counters with a nice double leg into side control. Ferk won't be happy with that.
Tate really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Tate takes a little break here. Ferk wants to take advantage but he is being controlled well.
Tate trying to control the action but Ferk is working from the bottom.

Tate tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Tate has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Tate wants to control but Ferk is keeping him busy.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Tate looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Tate wants to lay and pray for a moment but Ferk keeps working.
Tate prevents Ferk from escaping the position.
Tate moves into full mount!
Tate trying to control but Ferk is having none of it.

Tate has hold of Ferk's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Ferk manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Tate is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Ferk has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Ferk wants to hold on but Tate pushes him away.

Tate stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Ferk moves into the clinch successfully.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Tate keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Ferk's efforts to push away.

Tate gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Tate is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Ferk doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tate.

Tate seems to be looking for submissions.

Tate is trying for a kimura here. Ferk looks like he's in a lot of pain... and he's tapping out! Tate wins by kimura!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:59 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Tetsuya Tate!
A relieved looking Tetsuya Tate thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
