The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buchanan has a takedown stuffed.
Buchanan shoots for a double leg takedown but Hamm sprawls well. He's pushed Buchanan's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hamm throws a jab when Buchanan was well out of range.
Buchanan will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgil Buchanan. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Buchanan has his takedown stuffed
and Hamm counters with a series of strikes that practically lifts Buchanan off his feet! He tumbles backwards, his head bouncing off the mat - Hamm follows up with more strikes before the ref can step in but Buchanan was out before he hit the floor.
