PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Doggy Dawg (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ronnie Holeman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Doggy Dawg!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Ronnie Holeman!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Dirk Anderson and Peter Branson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holeman tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Dawg manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
Dawg throws a one two combo.

Holeman gets caught flat footed, as Dawg shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Dawg wants to control from the top but Holeman keeps moving.
Holeman is pulling down on Dawg's head. It's preventing any offense from Dawg, at least for the moment.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Holeman manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Dawg manages to get himself to full guard.

Dawg is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Holeman defends well.
Holeman is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

Dawg throws his legs up looking for a submission but Holeman uses it to pass to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Dawg wants to control but Holeman postures up.
Holeman just content to control the position.
Dawg tries to buck Holeman off but Holeman is having none of it.
Holeman has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Dawg!

Holeman takes Dawg's back. Could be looking for a rear naked choke here - either way, Dawg is in trouble.

Let's hope that Holeman has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dawg is really stuck here.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Ronnie Holeman was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Dawg fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Holeman sprawls well initially but Dawg persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Holeman pulls Dawg in close to prevent any damage.

Dawg has gone for a leg lock! Holeman slips out almost immediately though and dives into Dawg's guard.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Dawg is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

Dawg is controlling an arm, preventing Holeman from taking his back. Although keeping him in mount is no better to be honest.
Holeman tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dawg is desperately trying to get back to half guard.

Holeman manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Dawg on his heels. He'll look to pass Dawg's guard now, I'm sure.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Ronnie Holeman hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.

Holeman closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Dawg quickly recovers to half guard.
Holeman perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
A frustrated look appears on Dawg's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Holeman tries a shoulder strike but it doesn't do any damage.

Dawg has Holeman pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Dawg pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Holeman tumbling to the mat - Dawg dives into Holeman's guard.
Holeman has his hands on Dawg's head, controlling the position.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Holeman should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

I would just about give that final round to Ronnie Holeman.
