Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Gang Star!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Colin Fotheringham and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Star throws a head kick but Sanchez moves out of range.
Star shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Sanchez defends it nicely.

Star is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Sanchez's half guard.
Sanchez is controlling Star's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Sanchez has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
Sanchez's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Sanchez might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Star is stalling here. Sanchez is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Star seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Sanchez has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Sanchez decides to stand back up. Sanchez steps back and let's Star get back to his feet.

Star fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Sanchez is out of range.

Sanchez decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Star gets caught napping as Sanchez dives in and scores a takedown. Star manages to retain guard.

Sanchez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Star was covering up waiting for the punch and Sanchez finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Star is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Sanchez is controlling him.

Sanchez decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Star, up you get!

Star throws a combination. Sanchez tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

and Sanchez counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Sanchez.
Sanchez's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Star controls Sanchez momentarily but Sanchez frees himself.
Sanchez tries to stand but Star is controlling from the bottom.
Star is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Devin Sanchez overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee is asking the fighters to pick up the pace.
Star is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Star moves in looking to clinch but Sanchez pushes him off.
Sanchez dodges the punch combination from Star.
Star tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Sanchez defends well and Star ends up having to push Sanchez into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Star tries a knee to the head but Sanchez blocks it.
A body shot lands from Sanchez.

Star successfully pulls guard.
Sanchez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Star is proving hard to escape from.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Sanchez gets to his feet. Star looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Sanchez closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Star is looking for a sweep.
Star is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Sanchez stands up.
Star is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Star takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

Star gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Sanchez to score an easy takedown into full guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Star is looking for a triangle but Sanchez pushes his legs off easily.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!



Sanchez feints and as Star raises his hands in defense, Sanchez changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Star pulls Sanchez in close to prevent any damage.
Star will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.
Sanchez wanted to stand there but Star had control of the position.
Star looking to control but Sanchez passes into half guard.
Star is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Sanchez stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Star to get to his feet.
Star misses with a series of wild punches.
Star takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Star uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Sanchez.

Sanchez stands up.

Sanchez moves into the clinch.
Star is trying to push Sanchez away but Sanchez has him pressed against the cage, so he's going nowhere.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Sanchez throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.
Sanchez tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Star goes for a takedown attempt but Sanchez pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Nice takedown defense from Sanchez. No joy for Star on that attempt.
Devin Sanchez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gang Star.

Sanchez shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Star is trying to defend but Sanchez finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Devin Sanchez showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Sanchez, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
