Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Samuel Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Atilla Khan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Khan has chosen Killing In The Name as his entrance music. Atilla Khan has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Samuel Rodriguez !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Atilla Khan!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, James Glass and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Khan shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Rodriguez is looking to control Khan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Rodriguez avoid being mounted?
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Khan escapes and gets back to his feet.
Samuel Rodriguez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Khan darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rodriguez is trying to control but can't.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Khan stands up from half guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodriguez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rodriguez is looking to clinch.

Khan gets a clinch.
Rodriguez tries to throw a body punch but Khan avoids it by throwing Rodriguez back against the cage.
Nice body punch from Khan - that landed with a thud.
Rodriguez can't break the clinch.
Khan effectively controlling the action here.
Rodriguez tries a knee to the head but he's missed.
A nice left hand lands by Khan.
Rodriguez is working for takedown but Khan is calmly controlling the position for now.

Rodriguez is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Khan is defending well.
Rodriguez wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Khan has him pressed against the cage.

Khan gets a trip takedown into half guard.

Khan postures up and decides to stand up, from the half guard. The ref calls for Rodriguez to stand up.

and Khan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Samuel Rodriguez . That's going to take a lot out of him.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Rodriguez avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Rodriguez fails with the takedown
and Rodriguez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Rodriguez throws a sloppy head kick
letting Khan counter with a right hand.

Khan closes the distance and pushes Rodriguez back into the cage.

Khan lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Khan lands with a left to the head.
Khan manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Rodriguez tries to pull guard but Khan holds him up against the cage and eventually Rodriguez drops back down to his feet.
Khan has Rodriguez pressed against the cage.
Rodriguez jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Khan walks away with a smile on his face. Rodriguez gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Khan drives through and clinches with Rodriguez against the cage.

Rodriguez manages to pull guard.

Khan stands and steps away. Rodriguez gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Rodriguez doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Khan counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Samuel Rodriguez has been cut.
Rodriguez tries to clinch there but Khan circles away.
Rodriguez tries to clinch up but Khan circles away and keeps his distance.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
The fight stays on the outside here - Rodriguez looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Rodriguez misses with a takedown
and Rodriguez takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Khan gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Rodriguez is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.
Rodriguez is trying to pull guard but Khan turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Rodriguez is looking for a takedown.
Khan is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Rodriguez blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.

Rodriguez jumps guard but Khan turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Khan keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Rodriguez 's efforts to push away.
Khan prevents Rodriguez from breaking the clinch.
Rodriguez is looking to take this one to the mat.
Rodriguez tries to break free but Khan pushes him back against the cage.
Khan lands a knee to the head.


Rodriguez is rocked!

Rodriguez wants to break the clinch but can't.
Rodriguez wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
Khan landing knees to the body.

Khan gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.

The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Khan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Rodriguez rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Khan moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Rodriguez misses with a takedown
and Khan counters with a straight right hand.
Oh Rodriguez is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Rodriguez has his takedown stuffed
and Khan counters with a huge right that knocks Rodriguez out cold! Khan is running around with a crazed look on his face - you can see how much that meant to him!
