Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Rodrigo Henry (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Randy Carter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rodrigo Henry!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Randy Carter!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Robert Twigg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Carter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Henry tries to avoid it but Carter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Henry to the ground. Henry escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Carter tries to score with a low kick but Henry moves his leg out of the way.

Carter instigates a clinch.
Carter tries to pull guard but Henry won't allow it.
Henry scores with an uppercut up the middle.
Henry slowing the pace effectively.
Henry swings wildly with an uppercut but Carter uses good head movement to avoid it.
Henry stalls.
Henry gets a warning from the ref for wasting time.
Carter wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Henry has him pressed against the cage.
Henry swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Carter tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Henry smiles and moves away.
Rodrigo Henry has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Randy Carter.

Henry changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Carter looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

That's one minute gone in the round.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Carter keeping his opponent close.

Henry decides to stand back up. Henry steps back and let's Carter get back to his feet.
Carter tries to score with an inside leg kick but telegraphs it and Henry is able to avoid easily.
Carter throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Henry.
Henry shoots in looking for a takedown. Carter tries to sprawl out of it but Henry keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Carter manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Carter shoots in but Henry avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Carter shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Henry pinned against the cage. Henry gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

Carter closes the distance and pushes Henry back into the cage.
Carter wants to break the clinch but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Carter drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Carter looking to stall.
Henry trying to stall but Carter improves his position.
Henry misses with a body punch.
Henry gets underhooks to prevent Carter's takedown attempt.

Henry's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Carter closes the distance and pushes Henry back into the cage.
Henry is looking to control Carter's arms but Carter gets an underhook and turns him. Now Henry has his back to the cage.
Carter fails to pull guard.

Henry manages to break the clinch.
Carter throws a head kick that misses

and Henry counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
It looks like Henry is going to stand back up.
Henry thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Henry wants to get back to his feet.
Henry will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Henry is trying to work for a kimura but Carter is defending well.

Henry wants to work for an arm triangle but Carter is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Henry is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Carter doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Henry.
Henry scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodrigo Henry dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Henry keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Carter fails with a takedown attempt.
Henry moves out of range of the body kick from Carter.

Carter closes the distance and clinches.
Carter is looking to break free of the clinch but Henry has double underhooks.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Carter as Henry tries to tie him up.
Carter wants to take the fight to the mat but Henry manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Henry seems a little flustered. He's come in with the intention of controlling the clinch but Carter is preventing him from doing so, at least for the moment.

Henry pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Carter swings and misses with a shot to the body

and Henry counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Carter's guard now.
Henry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Carter wants to stand up but Henry is controlling him.
Carter is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Henry stands and steps away. Carter gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Carter dives in and grabs Henry's left leg, looking for a takedown. Henry pushes down on Carter's head and hops out.
Carter is breathing heavily.

Henry feints and as Carter raises his hands in defense, Henry changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Carter keeping moving, preventing Henry from controlling successfully.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Henry has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Carter is proving hard to escape from.
Carter has momentary wrist control but Henry slips an elbow through the middle.
Henry lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Henry thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Henry postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Henry wants to stand but Carter is controlling his posture from full guard.

Carter is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Henry defends well.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Henry throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Carter works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Henry works over Carter with some ground and pound from guard.
Henry throwing strikes from guard but Carter blocks nicely.
Henry wants to stand but Carter is controlling his posture from full guard.

Carter working for a triangle but Henry defends it easily.
Henry wants to stand but Carter has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Henry trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Carter will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Henry drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Carter manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Henry has Carter in his guard.
Henry is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Carter has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Henry really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Carter is trying to drag Henry to the mat but Henry just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
The referee is keeping an eye on Henry - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Henry is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Carter is keeping busy.
Henry wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Carter has him pressed against the cage.

A head punch blocked on the inside by Carter.
Carter blocks an uppercut.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
The ref breaks the fighters up, due to lack of action by Rodrigo Henry.
Henry slaps away a takedown attempt from Carter, before circling back to the center of the mat.
Henry throws a sloppy head kick and Carter moves out of range easily.

Carter throws a push kick but Henry slaps the foot to one side.

Carter instigates a clinch.
Henry throws a head punch that misses.
Carter tries to break free but Henry pushes him back against the cage.

Carter manages to get underhooks and slows down the pace for a moment.
Henry managing to block the knees to the body from Carter.
Henry has a couple of punches blocked by Carter.
Henry fails to land with a short punch on the inside.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Carter is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Henry is keeping busy.
Carter blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Carter tries to break the clinch but Henry is controlling the position.

Carter pulls Henry into guard.
Henry distracts Carter with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Henry working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Henry prevents Carter from getting back to his feet.
Carter takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Henry missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Henry wants to stand but Carter is controlling his posture from full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!

Well I reckon that's a shut out for Henry, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
