PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Raiden Asuka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tumamoc Hill (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The atmosphere really building for this one as we go over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Asuka closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. Hill quickly recovers to half guard.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.
Asuka wants to take a breather but Hill is having none of it.

Asuka is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Asuka trying to pass the guard but Hill defending well.
Hill wants to get back to full guard.
Asuka throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

Asuka wants to work for an arm triangle but Hill is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Hill gets full guard.
Asuka postures up in Hill's guard and throws a big left but Hill blocks it.
Asuka has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Asuka might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Asuka is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Hill is just riding it out for now. Asuka eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Asuka is looking to take a break and control but Hill is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Asuka is looking to stall here but Hill recovers full guard.

Hill is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Asuka is aware though and is defending well.
Asuka stands and throws Hill's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Asuka wants to control but Hill is keeping him busy.
Asuka tries to move into full mount but can't pass Hill's legs.
Hill is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Asuka is trying to move to mount but Hill reverses beautifully and ends up in Asuka's guard.

Asuka seems to have improved his submission grappling technique since last time we saw him. Let's see if he can pull off a submission.

Hill trying to control but Asuka is working from the bottom.

Hill got a little sloppy there for a moment and Asuka has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hill has managed to get both his arms back between Asuka's legs - danger averted.
Hill is fighting to break Asuka's control of his arms but Asuka is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

Asuka had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hill defends it easily.

Hill is sitting in close to Asuka's body. Asuka has gone for a guillotine from the bottom. Oh damn, that looks pretty tight! Hill is panicking - it looks like this one could be all over! Yes, Hill is tapping! That was a very nice submission by Asuka.
