The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ahmed shoots in for a takedown but James shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
James seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
James shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
James misses with a two punch combination.

James moves into the clinch.
James is trying to work for a single leg takedown but Ahmed pulls him back up using the underhooks.
James misses with a hook from the clinch.
James tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Ahmed smiles and moves away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for David James. That's going to take a lot out of him.
James misses with a takedown attempt - Ahmed sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.

Ahmed fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but James avoids it really well and circles away.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
James cracks Ahmed with a big elbow.

James has hold of Ahmed's arm. He's looking for a kimura. Ahmed seems comfortable defending it but James has shifted his position slighty and is cranking on the arm! Ahmed is real pain and he's forced to tap out! Ahmed is disgusted with himself for not defending it better but James couldn't care less - he's delighted!
