Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Abe Velez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Youri Loe (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Loe dives in and scores a takedown into Velez's guard.
Velez wants to get back to his feet but Loe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Loe postures up in Velez's guard and throws a big left but Velez blocks it.
Loe throwing strikes but missing.

Velez striking off his back but it's not causing Loe any problems.
Loe loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Velez punching from the bottom - just letting Loe know he's still in a fight.

Velez wants to get back to his feet but Loe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.
Loe postures up in Velez's guard and throws a big left but Velez blocks it.
Loe really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Velez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Velez tries to strike from the bottom.
Velez looking for a sweep. Not yet Velez, not yet.
Loe throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Velez throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
Velez bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Loe's guard.

Velez won't allow Loe to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Loe wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Velez manages to pass to side control.
Loe tries to kick Velez off but Velez keeps his base steady and stays in half guard.

Loe is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Loe shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Loe must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Loe distracts Velez with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Velez has control of Loe's left arm, preventing Loe from doing any damage.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Velez lands a decent shot there.

Velez has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up, due to lack of activity on the part of Abe Velez.

Loe closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Loe lands in his opponent's guard.
Velez is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Velez wants to get back to his feet but Loe is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

Loe is in close to Velez's body, working some short punches and elbows.

Loe gets to his feet and stands over Velez, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Velez felt that one! Loe unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Velez from any more punishment!
