Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Lucas Roy (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sith One (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). One has chosen Sith as his entrance music. Lucas Roy has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Lucas Roy!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Sith One!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Frank Dennis and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Roy closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. One quickly recovers to half guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Roy thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed One's head.
Roy will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

One keeping his head moving to avoid the ground and pound.
Roy lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
One is looking to control Roy's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can One avoid being mounted?
One is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Roy's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Roy's back!

One is working really hard to secure the rear naked choke. Roy defends successfully for a significant amount of time. Both fighters are looking very determined.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Roy slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Roy is pressing down on One's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

One might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Roy haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Roy has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but One can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Roy wants to sweep here but One controlling him for the moment.
Roy has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
One trying to control the position from guard on top but Roy is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Roy is looking for a triangle but One pushes his legs off easily.
One trying to control but Roy is working from the bottom.
One trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

One passes Roy's left leg - he's now in half guard.

One is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Roy!
One content just to control the position here.

One is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Roy can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Roy is trying desperately to improve position.

One has control of Roy's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Roy regains control of the situation pretty easily.
One looking to control but Roy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Roy keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

One looking for a guillotine from mount but Roy is having none of it.

One looking to control but Roy is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

One working for a submission but Roy is keeping him at bay.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Roy defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from One.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
One controlling from the full mount.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sith One dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!



One feints and as Roy raises his hands in defense, One changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
One won't allow Roy to sweep him here.
One advances position into side control!
One wants to lay and pray for a moment but Roy keeps working.

One tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no One has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Roy gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Roy is trying to get back to full guard.
One is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Sith One has got the better of the ground game so far.
One is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

One content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.
Roy is trying to get back to full guard.
One wants to pass to mount but Roy is defending the position.

Roy is looking for a sweep. One is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

One is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
One trying to control from half guard but Roy is working away.

One seems to be working for a kimura but Roy defends the submission attempt.
One looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
One is looking to take a break and control but Roy is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Roy throws a couple of weedy looking strikes off his back.

One seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Sith One has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Roy is defended easily by One.
Roy jabs One right on the nose. One blinks but takes it well.
One slips under a jab from Roy.

One is trying hard to land a takedown here. Roy sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
One shoots in for a double leg but Roy sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Lucas Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sith One.

A left and a right from Roy both land. Nice combination.
Roy shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts One as he jumps to the side.
We've been told by Roy's head coaches at Elite Dojo [21 Coaches / 58 cap] that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Roy dives in for a single leg takedown but One sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Roy is looking to pass into half guard but One pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now One is in guard.
Roy is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

A close second round but Sith One will probably get the nod - 10:9.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


No joy there for Roy, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Roy missing with a left hand there. One was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
One changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Roy tries to avoid it but One manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Roy to the ground. Roy escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
One shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.

Roy throws a body punch but One moves out of range.

and Roy counters with a single leg into guard. One didn't expect that.
Lucas Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sith One.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

One is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Roy throws a strike but One rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

One got a little sloppy there for a moment and Roy has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, One has managed to get both his arms back between Roy's legs - danger averted.
