Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Pablo Alonso!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Freeman!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Aafke Stam and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freeman fails with a takedown attempt.
Freeman takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Ooooh, nice body kick lands from Alonso. Freeman shrugs it off though.
Alonso instigates a clinch.
Freeman is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Alonso digs a right hand underneath Freeman's ribcage. Freeman let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Alonso breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Alonso shuffles to his left behind two crisp jabs. Freeman eats them both and turns towards Alonso to reposition himself and eats a stinging right hand-left hook combo.
It looks like James Freeman has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Freeman fails with the takedown.
Pablo Alonso has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Freeman.
Freeman shoots in looking for a takedown but Alonso manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Freeman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Freeman shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alonso pinned against the cage. Alonso gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Freeman tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Alonso counters with a three punch combo that has Freeman backing up. Freeman nods at Alonso to acknowledge the strikes.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Alonso lands a jab-cross combination.
Alonso scores with a hook to the body. Freeman takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Freeman doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Alonso counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Freeman looks winded!
OH! Freeman has been rocked by a huge right hand and is in deep trouble! Alonso smells blood and charges in for the finish! Alonso unloads a vicious overhand right and connects to the jaw of Freeman sending him face first to the canvas! Unbelievable!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:35 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Pablo Alonso!
