Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Tommy Ward (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Octavio Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Octavio Ramos has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 4 - 1, fighting out of Helsinki, Tommy Ward!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Octavio Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Johanna Lukiainen and Matti Vanhoillinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Ward takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.
Ramos shoots for a double leg takedown but Ward sprawls well. He's pushed Ramos's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Ward shoots in but Ramos avoids the takedown attempt easily.
No joy there for Ward, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Ramos uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Ramos has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Ward is landing a low percentage of strikes.

Ward has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

That was a close round but I would say that Tommy Ward will probably get the nod.

A nice left hand lands by Ramos.
Ward is pushing Ramos up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Ramos's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Ramos tries to close the distance and clinch but Ward swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

That was a close second round but I would say that Tommy Ward will probably get the nod.

Ward shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Ramos sprawls well. Ramos wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Ward gets slowly back to his feet.
Ramos will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Tommy Ward.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Ward, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
