Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Matthew Connor!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Amir Khan!
The judges for this bout are Steve Smith, Gregory Folan and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Connor scores with a jab to the jaw.
Khan throws a right and a left that Connor avoids nicely.
Khan throws a hook to the side of Connor's head but Connor sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Connor takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
Connor throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Khan sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Khan fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Connor has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Khan moves out of range of the strikes.
Connor jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A slow jab from Connor misses its intended target.
Khan uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Connor.
Good exchange - Khan coming out on top.
Khan moves out of range as Connor strikes.
Connor swings for the body but Khan moves out of range.
Amir Khan seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Khan closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

Connor misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Khan.

Khan throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Khan fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Connor manages to avoid it.

Khan lands with an uppercut that bounces Connor off the cage and back into range.
Connor pulls out of a head kick attempt.

Khan lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Khan tries to clinch up but Connor circles away and keeps his distance.
Khan throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Connor throws a leg kick that misses.
Khan lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Connor tried to score with a low kick but Khan checks it.
Khan on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Connor swings widly with a right hand
and Khan counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Khan throws a sloppy body shot
and Connor counters with a straight right hand.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Khan, as that shot connected.
A big right from Khan misses.
Connor looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Connor. Khan does a little dance to reset his feet.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Khan moves into the clinch.
Connor can't break the clinch.
Connor tries to break the clinch but Khan is controlling the position.
A short uppercut from Khan.

Connor breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Khan swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Connor misses with a few strikes there.
Connor lands a nice looking body shot.
Connor throws a sloppy body shot
and Khan counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Connor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Khan circles away quickly and effectively.
Donk. Khan catches Connor right on the button with a cross.
Some wild striking there from Khan.

Connor scores with a jab. Khan acknowledges it with a nod of the head.
Connor throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Khan cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Khan uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Connor.
Connor missing with a left hand there. Khan was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Khan lands a jab.
Connor dodges the punch combination from Khan.
Khan dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Khan moves out of range as Connor strikes.
Connor moves out of range as Khan strikes.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Connor swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Khan jabbing away but nothing is landing.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Amir Khan will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Connor ducks under a wild hook from Khan.

Khan lands a body shot.

Khan moves into the clinch successfully.
Stalling in the clinch from Khan.
Khan tries to throw a body punch but Connor avoids it by throwing Khan back against the cage.
Khan lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Connor backwards.
Khan tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Connor blocking some punches.
Connor working hard to break the clinch.
Connor wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Connor breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Connor gets off balance looking for a body kick
letting Khan counter with a right hand.
Khan with poor footwork there. He got himself in a bit of a tangle, enabling Connor to score with a decent uppercut.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Connor lands a jab-cross combination.


Khan is rocked!
Khan missing with a left hand there. Connor was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Khan is still on wobbly legs! Can Connor finish him?
Khan throws an overhand right that lands on Connor's shoulder, as Connor tries to avoid the shot.
A big right followed by a crushing left from Connor knocks Khan out cold! Ouch - that one's going to be featured in highlight reels for years to come!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:15 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Matthew Connor!
Matthew Connor decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
