Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jared Battle (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Papi Chulo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Daniel Bishop and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Chulo drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Battle escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chulo gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Chulo working in close now, lands a nice elbow to the side of Battle's head.

Chulo passes easily into side control. Nice work.

Chulo decides to stand up, so the ref orders Battle to his feet.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Chulo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Battle tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Chulo holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Chulo is trying to wear down his opponent with knees to the body.
Chulo tries to land knees in the clinch but Battle avoids the damage to the body.

Chulo manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Chulo is on top in guard.
Chulo slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Chulo makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Chulo distracts Battle with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Chulo is looking to work some ground and pound but Battle has wrist control.

Chulo has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
It looks like Chulo might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Chulo postures up from his opponent's guard, before exploding into some vicious ground and pound! Battle covers up, he's hurt! Chulo keeps throwing the strikes, glancing at the referee... Will he stop it?? One more big shot from Chulo and the ref steps in to end the fight! Chulo can't hide his delight as he celebrates with his corner.
