PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gustavo Santos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Masa Mama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Mama's choice of entrance music: Cowboys From Hell. Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mama closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Santos looks exhausted already! Oh dear, he should have come in in better shape than this!
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Mama is working for a submission of some sort.
Mama uses his free foot to push down on Santos's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Santos.
Mama pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mama misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Mama trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Santos takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Mama looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Mama sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Mama throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Santos because Mama loaded up on that one.
We're hearing some news coming in from back stage. It's official - Mama has eaten all the pies!

Mama has hold of Santos's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Santos manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Mama scoring with strikes but Santos is staying in there.

Mama thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

Mama looking to control but Santos is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Mama looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Mama is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Santos can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.
Mama sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Santos tries to lock up and control but Mama gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Mama is giving the impression that he's looking to ground and pound but he switches suddenly into a beautiful far side armbar! Santos is forced to tap! Great finish!

Masa Mama decided to go for the less than humble approach in his post fight interview, telling everyone how he is going to conquer the world. The crowd seemed to like it when really that sort of approach could have gone either way.
