Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Rocco Stupka (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Mann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stupka kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Red Army March. Rocco Stupka could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mark Mann's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 22 - 16 - 0, fighting out of New York, Rocco Stupka!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 10 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Mann!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, David Schapiro and John Roberts.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stupka throws the left hand but Mann avoids the punch easily.
Mann throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Stupka checks a leg kick.
Mann misses with a right hand
and Stupka counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Mann takes one on the chin but keeps coming.


It looks like Mark Mann has been cut.
Mann fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Stupka manages to avoid it.
Stupka throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Stupka missing with a left hand there. Mann was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
A big right from Stupka misses.
Mann looks to land a combination. Stupka sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.


It looks like Rocco Stupka has been cut.
Mann works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.

A swing and a miss from Mann.
Stupka uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Mann.
Mann takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Mann looks to land a right hand but Stupka moved out of range.
Stupka moves out of range as Mann strikes.
Mann takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Mann steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Stupka.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Stupka comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Mann ducks under a wild hook from Stupka.
Stupka misses with a wild body shot.
Stupka lands an overhand right.
Stupka throws a lazy right hand but Mann sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Mann has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
Mann swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Stupka throws a hook but Mann blocks it.
Mann tries to close the distance and clinch but Stupka swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Stupka misses with a looping left.
Stupka throws a hook to the side of Mann's head but Mann sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
A slapping body kick lands there for Mann.
Mann throws a sloppy head kick and Stupka moves out of range easily.
Stupka connects with a jab.


Mann is rocked!
Mann throws a hook to the side of Stupka's head but Stupka sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Stupka throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Mann sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Stupka ducks under a wild hook from Mann.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Stupka checks a low kick from Mann.
Mann swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
Mann ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Mann on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
Mann moves out of range of the strikes.
Stupka uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Mann.
Stupka missing with a left hand there. Mann was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Stupka is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Mann misses with a left hand
and Stupka counters with an inside leg kick.
Mann checks the leg kick nicely there.
A slow jab from Mann misses its intended target.
Stupka misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
A looping hook to the body misses from Stupka. Mann does a little dance to reset his feet.
Mann throws a leg kick that misses.
Mann swings away with a body shot that misses
and Stupka counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Mann throws a leg kick but Stupka sees it coming and moves out of range.
Stupka cracks Mann with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Mann tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Stupka pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Mann is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:58 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Rocco Stupka!
Rocco Stupka was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
