The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Karlin fails with the takedown.
Karlin avoids the head kick by Kharitonov.
Kharitonov slaps away a takedown attempt from Karlin, before circling back to the center of the mat.
A head kick misses from Kharitonov.
Kharitonov throws a head kick that misses.
Kharitonov lands a head kick!
Kharitonov lands with an overhand left.

Karlin bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Karlin shoots in and bounces Kharitonov off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Karlin won't allow Kharitonov to get back to his feet.
Karlin stands and throws Kharitonov's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Kharitonov takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Karlin cracks Kharitonov with a big elbow.
Karlin should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.
Karlin in side control lands a decent elbow.
Karlin has knee on belly and moves into mount.
Kharitonov is looking to improve his position but Karlin isn't that keen on the idea.
Karlin moves to the back position.
Kharitonov is breathing heavily.
Kharitonov just trying to survive but Karlin is wriggling into a better position, looking to finish.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kharitonov is trying to defend against the choke here but Karlin has an arm under his chin. This one might not last much longer. Karlin Tightens the hold and Kharitonov taps out furiously! Karlin displays superior BJJ to win the fight.
