The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Topor throws a body punch but Ward moves out of range.
Boris Topor seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ward takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Topor lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Ward circles away quickly and effectively.
Topor throws a left and a right that both miss
and Ward counters with a nice body kick.
Ward tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Topor paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Topor misses with a few strikes there.
Ward doesn't manage to clinch there - Topor circles away.
Topor tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Ward was well out of range. Poor timing from Topor.
Topor fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Ward keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
A left and a right from Topor both land. Nice combination.

It looks like Grant Ward has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Ward takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Topor fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Ward on the side of the head.
Topor swings for the body but Ward moves out of range.
Ward avoids a punch combination nicely.
Topor throws a series of punches but Ward moves out of range.
Topor definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.

and Ward counters with a leg kick.
Topor fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Ward manages to avoid it.

Ward uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Topor.
Topor stuffs the takedown.
Topor looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Ward tries to clinch there but Topor circles away.
Topor throws a right and a left that Ward avoids nicely.

and Ward holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Ward tries to land a knee to the head but Topor blocks with his arms.

Ward is trying to pull guard but Topor turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Ward breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Topor throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Ward.
Topor misses with a jab, cross combination.
Topor throws a head kick that misses

and Ward holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Topor blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
Topor tries to break free but Ward pushes him back against the cage.

Topor is fighting off a takedown attempt but Ward is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Topor to the mat. Topor regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The referee must be thinking about standing these guys back up.

Ward is trying to work a guillotine from the top, or something like that? Don't know how he thinks he's going to get a finish from there.
Ward trying to control the position from guard on top but Topor is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Topor wants to stand up but Ward is controlling him.

Grant Ward has forced the referee to step in and restart the fight on the feet.
Topor fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Topor throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Topor is breathing heavily.
Topor throws a nice looking combination but Ward bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Ward shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Topor is trying to defend but Ward finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Ward passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Topor!

Topor avoids a series of strikes thrown by Ward.

Ward is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Topor has managed to escape the submission attempt.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Topor really wants to buck Ward off and get back to his feet.
Ward pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Ward looking to isolate an arm here. Topor doesn't see it coming and as Ward extends the arm, he's forced to tap out! Nice submission by Ward!
