Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Asher Asher (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Nate Newman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, John Kavanagh and Jorge Garcia.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Asher misses with the body kick
and Newman counters with a slapping leg kick.
Asher feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Newmans jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!
Asher Asher seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Newman.
We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Newman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Asher.
Newman swings for the body but Asher moves out of range.
We've been hearing reports that Asher has been drilling takedowns in recent sessions so let's see if that has an impact on the result of this fight.

Asher tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Newman lands a nice leg kick that just misses Asher's sensitive parts.
Newman throws out a powerful jab.

Newman drops down looking for an ankle pick but Asher pulls his leg out and moves away.

Newman displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Asher throws out the jab.

and Newman counters with a nice leg kick.
Asher takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
Newman connects with a solid leg kick.
Newman fails in his attempt to clinch.

Newman throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Asher takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Newman is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
Newman is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Asher rather than just go for the knockout.
Newman misses with a wild body shot.
Newman lands a leg kick that knocks Asher off balance momentarily.

Asher slips a jab and a cross from Newman.
BOOM! Newman lands a beautiful left hook that drops Asher. Asher tries to recover but Newman is having none of it, landing more punishing shots from mount. One final crushing shot and Asher lies motionless on the canvas. The fight is over!
