PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Fredrick Stonewall (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jones Morris (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stonewall kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genuis that is Shadow Play by the Killers. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jones Morris!
The judges for this bout are Bruno Hogan, Steve Erwin and Skip Squint.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morris shoots in looking for a takedown. Stonewall tries to sprawl out of it but Morris keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stonewall manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Stonewall stuffs the takedown attempt from Morris. Morris gets slowly back to his feet.
Stonewall really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Stonewall blocks a head kick by Morris.

Stonewall has Morris up against the cage in a clinch.
Morris looking to throw knees to the head but Stonewall is blocking nicely.

Stonewall wants the takedown. Morris is fighting it off but Stonewall persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Morris's guard against the cage.

Morris working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Stonewall doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Stonewall manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Stonewall tries to free his leg and advance position but Morris is retaining full guard.
Stonewall wants to control from the top but Morris keeps moving.

Stonewall tries to stand but Morris is controlling from the bottom.
Stonewall has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Stonewall postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Stonewall passes Morris's right leg, so he's now in half guard.
Stonewall looks to land a strike but Morris avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Morris wants to hit a switch here but Stonewall passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Morris there!

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Morris is bucking up trying to escape but Stonewall cracks him with another couple of good strikes.

It looks like Jones Morris has been cut.
Stonewall postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Morris looks a forlorn figure.
Stonewall connects with a couple of good shots from mount.
Stonewall lands with some strikes.

Morris is rocked!

Morris is still in real trouble! Can Stonewall finish him?
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Morris looks gassed!

Stonewall postures up and connects with a big shot that has rocked Morris badly. He's trying desperately to grab hold of Stonewall around the waist but Stonewall pushes him off and unloads with more strikes, forcing the referee to jump in and save him! Stonewall is the winner by TKO! Stonewall jumps onto the cage and shouts into the camera. "We did it momma!"

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:03 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Fredrick Stonewall!
