PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Justin Textmark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Leks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Leks told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Justin Textmark!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Justin Leks!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, William Gold and Steven Brown.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Textmark waves his right hand out infront of him, looking to distract Leks. Oh, he's unloaded a beast of a left hand - it worked! He's dropped Leks to the canvas! Can he finish him!?


Leks is rocked!


It looks like Justin Leks has been cut.

Textmark postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Leks is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Textmark, into his guard.
Leks is still in real trouble! Can Textmark finish him?
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Leks in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Leks seems to have recovered his senses.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Leks stays in close to Textmark's body and controls the position.

Textmark escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Leks gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Leks is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Leks looking to pass the guard.

Textmark had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Leks is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Textmark Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Leks's back instead.

Textmark is looking for the choke from the back position but Leks is controlling his hands well.

Textmark has got his arm under Leks's chin working for the choke… has he got it? It looks pretty tight! Oh! Leks has spun round into Textmark's guard beautifully! Well done that man!
Leks stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Textmark swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Textmark working for a triangle but Leks defends it easily.
Leks trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Textmark wants to sweep but no luck.
Leks controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Leks wants to stand but Textmark is controlling his posture from full guard.
Leks passes Textmark's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Leks performing his best blanket impression for a moment.
Textmark is pressing down on Leks's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Textmark lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Leks!

Textmark moves into side control, trying to work for a kimura. That looks painful! Will he finish!!?? No, Leks has worked his arm free - good work by Leks!

Textmark thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Leks is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Textmark's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Leks trying to control here.
Leks controlling the position for now.
Leks has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Textmark is working away from the top position though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Justin Textmark dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Justin Leks's cut.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Textmark will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Leks lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Textmark at a distance.
Textmark throws a big shot that misses.
Leks throws the left hand but Textmark avoids the punch easily.
The crowd cheers as Leks lands an impressive looking overhand right. Textmark doesn't seem phased though.


It looks like Justin Textmark has been cut.
Leks connects with a superb combination that knocks Textmark out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Leks before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Textmark!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:34 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Justin Leks!
