Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Shawn Kronburger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mitsuyo Maeda (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Kronburger might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Turn up. Shawn Kronburger could well score a knockout today. He has the power to get to Mitsuyo Maeda's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 39 - 20 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Shawn Kronburger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 19 - 10 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Mitsuyo Maeda!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Bishop, Chris Edwards and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maeda scores with a nice body kick.
Maeda paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Mitsuyo Maeda seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Maeda lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Nice defenses there by Maeda.
Maeda shoots for a double leg takedown but Kronburger sprawls well. He's pushed Maeda's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Maeda counters with a takedown into side control! That could mean trouble for Kronburger!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Kronburger bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Maeda's guard.

Mitsuyo Maeda showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

and Kronburger counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Maeda looks to throw the jab but Kronburger is out of range.

Kronburger throws a hook but Maeda blocks it.
Maeda changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Kronburger tries to avoid it but Maeda manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Kronburger to the ground. Kronburger escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Maeda lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Kronburger has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Kronburger and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Maeda will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Maeda bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Kronburger's head.
Kronburger works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Kronburger cracks Maeda with a good jab.
Kronburger's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Maeda connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Kronburger scrambles back to his feet.

Maeda gets caught by a big overhand right and goes down! Kronburger gets on top of him and starts throwing some serious punches until the ref intervenes and stops the fight!

Shawn Kronburger seemed lost for words in his post fight interview but he remembered to thank his fans and directed everyone to his website.
