Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Alex Louvierre (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Mark Maynard (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Louvierre might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Dirty House. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Maynard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Louvierre's head.
Louvierre gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Maynard.
Nice takedown defense from Louvierre. No joy for Maynard on that attempt.

Maynard changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Louvierre tries to avoid it but Maynard manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Louvierre to the ground. Louvierre escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

No luck for Maynard with that takedown attempt.
Maynard is landing a lot of head punches in this opening round! Louvierre had better start moving his head a bit unless he wants his face to turn into pâté.

Louvierre is pressed up against the cage. Maynard has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Louvierre down to the mat. Louvierre avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.

Louvierre throws a strike but Maynard rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Maynard is pushing down on Louvierre's leg trying to pass to half guard. Louvierre is fighting to maintain full guard but Maynard has managed to sneak the leg through.

Louvierre wants to stand and escape but Maynard is having none of it.

Maynard has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Maynard is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Maynard hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
