The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pereira throws a head kick that lands with a deafening thwack! The crowd roars as Wong stumbles backwards and falls to the mat. Pereira follows into mount!

Wong is rocked!

It looks like Stanton Wong has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Pereira is looking to stand but Pereira has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.
Oh Wong is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Wong could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Wong keeping his composure momentarily, calmly looking to get back to half guard.
Wong is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.

Pereira stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Pereira gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Wong to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Pereira throws his legs up looking for a submission but Wong uses it to pass to side control.
Pereira tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Wong presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Wong stands up from the dominant position, so we're back on the feet.

Pereira takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.

Wong is nestled in close to Pereira, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Pereira has a hand on Wong's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Wong takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wong is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Pereira is surviving well by controlling Wong's body position as best he can.

Wong lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Pereira is looking to slip a leg under and get half guard but Wong is one step ahead and moves to full mount!

Pereira is in a horrible position here. Wong smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.
Wong fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Pereira is trying desperately to improve position.
Pereira tries to improve his position but instead Wong has taken his back!
Pereira is breathing heavily.
Pereira is trapped and Wong is scoring with shots to the head and body.

Wong has the hooks in. Pereira is starting to panic. He's trying to push off one of the legs but he's left his neck open to attack. Wong passes his arm under Pereira's neck and tightens up a rear naked choke! This one is surely all over! Yes, Pereira taps!
