Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Luciano Hurley (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alvin Dale (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Luciano Hurley!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Alvin Dale!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Daniel Franklin and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hurley doesn't succeed with the takedown

and Dale counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Dale is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.
Dale cracks Hurley with a solid left hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Hurley controls Dale momentarily but Dale frees himself.
Hurley really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Hurley has control of Dale's left arm, preventing Dale from doing any damage.
Dale wants to pass the guard but Hurley is keeping the position.
Hurley looking to sweep here. No luck so far.
Dale with a nice head shot there.

Hurley keeping full guard, as Dale tries to pass.
Hurley is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Hurley knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dale on the ground.
Dale slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Dale throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
You can see the frustration on Hurley's face as Dale controls the position.
Hurley wants to control but Dale postures up.
Hurley tries to improve position but can't.
Dale just content to control the position.
It looks like Dale might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Alvin Dale.
Hurley fails with the takedown.

Dale changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hurley looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dale in side control, throwing shots but Hurley defends.

Hurley tries to buck Dale off but Dale is having none of it.
Dale has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Dale decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hurley to his feet.

Dale drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Dale creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.
Hurley is being controlled here.

A bit of a lull in the action. I'm sure it will pick up again soon... even if the ref has to physically pick them up and put them back on their feet.
Hurley is not content to let Dale control the position.
Hurley tries to bench press Dale off him but Dale keeps the position.

Dale is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Hurley is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dale advances nicely into full mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Dale swats away the attempt to clinch by Hurley.
Dale shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Hurley sprawls well. Hurley wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Dale gets slowly back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hurley is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Dale decides to stand and escape the position.
Hurley throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Dale's waist but Dale gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Hurley off to one side.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Dale shoots for a takedown but Hurley saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Dale working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.
The referee asks Dale politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Dale prefers to stall for the moment though.
Alvin Dale has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dale stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Dale decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Dale is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Hurley doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Dale.

Dale winds up and cracks Hurley with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Dale throws a strike but Hurley avoids it easily and moves to full guard.
Dale stands and throws Hurley's legs to the side, diving into side control.

Dale is trying to get an arm triangle but Hurley is defending well.
Hurley is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dale tries to advance to mount but can't.
Dale slows the pace down.
Dale trying to control the action but Hurley is working from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.
Hurley parries the strikes from Dale easily there. Dale is wary of posturing up too much because it might enable Hurley to escape.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alvin Dale showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!



Dale closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hurley to the mat! Hurley manages to get full guard.
Hurley looking to hit a scissor sweep but Dale is one step ahead there.
Hurley will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Dale decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Hurley, up you get!

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Hurley is refusing to be controlled, as Dale sits in half guard.
Dale keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Dale is pressing down on Hurley's thigh, looking to free his foot. Hurley is holding on for now.

Dale is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Hurley has managed to free his arm - good work.
Dale not landing any meaningful shots this time.
Hurley keeps control of the position for the meantime.
Hurley trying to control from the bottom.
Dale slips a nice elbow through Hurley's hands, connecting with Hurley's forehead.

Dale is taking a breather. Hurley says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Dale misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Dale fails with an attempt to clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Dale pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Dale has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Dale throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Hurley was covering up waiting for the punch and Dale finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dale trying to control but Hurley is working from the bottom.
Dale is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Dale working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Dale trying to control the position from guard on top but Hurley is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Alvin Dale hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Dale lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Hurley circles away quickly and effectively.

Hurley shoots in and bounces Dale off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Dale looking for a sweep. Not yet Dale, not yet.

Dale uses the cage to get back to his feet.
This has been an exciting period of action!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Dale stuffs the takedown attempt from Hurley. Hurley gets slowly back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Alvin Dale comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Dale has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
