Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Hosea Kerr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and James Shark (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Shark has chosen Cry Me A River as his entrance music. James Shark has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Hosea Kerr!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, James Shark!
The judges for this bout are Johanna Lukiainen, Arvi Lind and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Shark darts in and clinches Kerr up against the cage.
Shark is struggling to control the position.
Kerr tries for a takedown. No joy.

It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Shark won't allow Kerr to get back to his feet.
Shark really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Kerr. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Shark is looking to stand up but Kerr won't let him.
Kerr throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.

Shark is fighting to break Kerr's control of his arms but Kerr is doing a good job of controlling the position at the moment.

and Kerr counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Shark throws a sloppy head kick and Kerr moves out of range easily.

Kerr might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Kerr pushes Shark away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, Shark gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.

Shark tries to stand but Kerr is controlling his head.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

Shark fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Kerr has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.
Shark throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Kerr.

Shark tries to keep at a distance but Kerr has taken the fight into the clinch.
Shark is trying to pull guard but Kerr has him pressed against the cage.

Kerr has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Shark off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Shark enables Kerr to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Shark manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Shark gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Kerr to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Kerr is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Shark's half guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Kerr pulls Shark in close to prevent any damage.

Kerr has his feet on Shark's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Kerr closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Kerr looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.

Kerr is taking a breather. Shark says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Kerr decides to stand and escape the position.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Kerr closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Kerr lands in his opponent's guard.
Kerr is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Shark can do to turn this around?
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kerr is looking to work some ground and pound but Shark has wrist control.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Kerr thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Kerr wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.

Shark won't allow Kerr to sweep him here.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

James Shark has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Hosea Kerr is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.
Hosea Kerr has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Shark.

Hosea Kerr showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Kerr has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
