Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Elmo David (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Aaron Pico (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Elmo David!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Aaron Pico!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Don Winkell and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pico tries to close the distance and clinch up but David swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Pico closes the distance and gets a trip takedown into side control. David quickly recovers to half guard.
David trying to hold on to Pico's head to control him but Pico postures up.
Pico wants to stand but David has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
David wants to control but Pico is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Pico is taking a breather. David says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

The ref stands the fighters back up because Elmo David just wasn't active enough.

Pico closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Pico takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Pico tries to stand but can't do so whilst David controls his leg.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Aaron Pico.
David lands a head kick!
David throws a leg kick which misses Pico's front leg but catches the back leg as Pico tries to avoid it.

Pico fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with David, pushing him back against the cage.

Pico has picked David up - he's going for a ride! Pico dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
David is staying active underneath Pico, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
David won't allow Pico to pass to mount.
Pico with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pico closes the distance and clinches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
David tries to land a knee to the head but Pico blocks with his arms.
Pico scores with an uppercut up the middle.

David is fighting off a takedown attempt but Pico is just too persistent for him and manages to trip David to the mat. David regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

David thows some rabbit punches from the bottom but they don't do any damage.

Pico showing good wrestling skills to control the position.
Pico tries to stand but David is controlling from the bottom.
David looking to hit a scissor sweep but Pico is one step ahead there.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Pico controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.
David is trying to keep Pico in close.

The ref stands the fighters back up. Aaron Pico was stalling too much, according to the referee.

Pico pushes David up against the cage in a clinch.

Pico tries to break free but David pushes him back against the cage.

Pico works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
David not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pico sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Pico pressing down on his opponent's thigh, looking to pass guard. David is keeping the position for now.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Pico dominated that round.
That's time! David's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


David misses with a combination

and Pico counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Pico is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Pico works a leg free and moves into half guard.

David is defending against the submission attempts here by Pico.

David is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Pico pulls his head out easily.

Pico looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
David is trying to control but can't.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

David tries to get to full guard but Pico has control of the leg.

Pico is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Pico tries to stand but his arm is trapped.

Pico seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but David does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

David moves into full guard.

Pico drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Pico jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
Pico not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
David controls Pico momentarily but Pico frees himself.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

David working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Pico doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Pico manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
David looks to land a combination but Pico avoids it well.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Pico is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in David's half guard.
Pico is pressing down on David's thigh, looking to free his foot. David is holding on for now.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Pico seems to be looking for submissions.
David tries to get to full guard but Pico has control of the leg.

Pico is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Aaron Pico has got the better of the ground game so far.
David flails away from the bottom but he's not doing any damage.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Aaron Pico showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


David misses with a body kick.

Pico shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. David is trying to defend but Pico finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
David throws a strike from the bottom that misses.
David is trying to maintain the position but Pico is very close to passing his half guard.
Pico looking to pass the half guard. Not this time.
David wants to get back to full guard.
Pico seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
Pico prevents David from improving his position.
Pico is looking to advance position but David won't allow it.

Pico perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.

David looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
David wants to control but Pico is keeping busy and won't allow it.
David makes his way to full guard. A much better position for David.

Pico drops back looking for a leg! David is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and David manages to kick Pico off! Pico jumps back into David's guard.
Pico is stalling in the full guard.
David really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Aaron Pico hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
David moves in looking to clinch but Pico pushes him off.
David misses with the combination.
Pico avoids the head kick by David.

Pico scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Pico just content to control the position.

Pico feints and as David raises his hands in defense, Pico changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Pico is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Pico wants to pass the guard but David is keeping the position.

David has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Pico can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

And that's the end of the fight!
Aaron Pico comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Pico has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
