The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lawsky looks to score with a jab to the body but Vellie is just out of range.
Vellie uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Lawsky.

Vellie lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Lawsky throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lawsky tries to land a front kick but Vellie steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Lawsky rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Vellie moves out of range and avoids them all easily.

Lawsky throws a push kick but Vellie slaps the foot to one side.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Lawsky is pinned up against the cage taking some big shots here. The referee is looking closely deciding whether he should stop the fight.
Vellie connects with a good right hand that stumbles Lawsky. Lawsky circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Lawsky throws a head kick but Vellie moves out of range.
Vellie just misses with a punch to the body.

FlockA Vellie seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Lawsky throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

and Lawsky decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Vellie's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Vellie is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Vellie wants to sweep but no luck.
Vellie really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Lawsky. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Lawsky postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Lawsky seems like he's working for an arm triangle here. He's freed his trapped foot and he's rotating nicely. Vellie is in big trouble! He's tapping out! This one is aaaaaaaaaaaall over!
