Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sebasti Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Akisame Koetsuji (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Alvarez comes to the cage accompanied by Foster The People - Pumped Up Kicks. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 14 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sebasti Alvarez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Akisame Koetsuji!
The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Alan Glass and Cecil Peabody.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Koetsuji is looking to clinch.
Alvarez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Alvarez just misses with a punch to the body.
Koetsuji tries for a takedown but Alvarez sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Koetsuji shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Alvarez manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Alvarez can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Koetsuji controls the pace.
Alvarez looking to hit a scissor sweep but Koetsuji is one step ahead there.
Alvarez utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Koetsuji postures up in Alvarez's guard and throws a big left but Alvarez blocks it.
Koetsuji wants to pass the guard but Alvarez is keeping the position.

Koetsuji postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Koetsuji wants to control from the top but Alvarez keeps moving.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Koetsuji accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Alvarez really has the hooks in deep now - there seems like no escape for Koetsuji.

Alvarez fakes a jab and throws a low kick but Koetsuji checks it well.

Koetsuji shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Koetsuji was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Koetsuji throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.
Koetsuji has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Koetsuji goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Alvarez rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Koetsuji's guard! Nice work there by Alvarez!
Koetsuji wants to control the position but Alvarez says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
Koetsuji is trying to control but can't.
Alvarez wants to take a breather but Koetsuji is having none of it.
Koetsuji is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Alvarez's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Alvarez's back!

Alvarez is working hard here to advance position.

Koetsuji looking for the choke but no joy.

Koetsuji working for a RNC but it's not happening just yet.
I really don't envy Alvarez right now.
Akisame Koetsuji has got the better of the ground game so far.
Koetsuji struggling to land strikes to the head as Alvarez covers up.

Even with his hooks in, Koetsuji manages to miss with strikes from the back.
Alvarez has his hands over his head blocking the strikes from Koetsuji.
Koetsuji lands a shot to the body.
Alvarez trying to control the hands but Koetsuji breaks the grip.
Alvarez is trying to escape under a series of strikes and manages to escape from Koetsuji 's hooks.
Koetsuji is looking to work his way around to Alvarez's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Alvarez wants to control but Koetsuji is having none of it.
Koetsuji pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Koetsuji landing strikes from the mount.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Poor strikes thrown by Koetsuji there. More accuracy and less frantic strikes would help!
Alvarez is in a horrible position here. Koetsuji smacks him with another shot as he tries to escape the position.


Alvarez is rocked!

Koetsuji swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Alvarez is now in Koetsuji's guard. A big mistake from Koetsuji there, giving up the dominant position!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Akisame Koetsuji showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!


Alvarez ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Alvarez avoids the body shot from Koetsuji.
Alvarez stalks Koetsuji and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Koetsuji's face. Koetsuji staggers backwards, shaken.
Alvarez connects with an inside leg kick.
Koetsuji shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Alvarez but Alvarez pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Koetsuji misses the body punch
and Alvarez counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Alvarez throws a quick inside leg kick.

Koetsuji decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Koetsuji wants to control but Alvarez is keeping him busy.

Koetsuji is thwarting Alvarez's attempts to control the position.
Koetsuji throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Koetsuji wants to lay and pray for a moment but Alvarez keeps working.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Alvarez lands a leg kick that knocks Koetsuji off balance momentarily.
Koetsuji swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Alvarez throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Alvarez looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Alvarez misses with a looping right.
Alvarez keeps the fight on the outside.
Alvarez connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.


Koetsuji is rocked!
Alvarez measures up his opponent and throws a superman punch that connects to the jaw! Down goes Koetsuji! The ref steps in, and that's the ball game folks!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:39 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Superman Punch). Sebasti Alvarez!
During a confident post fight interview, Sebasti Alvarez thanked all his fans. He seemed very genuine when describing how motivated his fans keep him.
