Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Din Thomas (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lassi Lambada (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Thomas comes to the cage accompanied by Two Steps from Hell. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Din Thomas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 18 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Lassi Lambada!
The judges for this bout are Felipe Paraventi, Seu Braga and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thomas comes forward and lands a shot to the body, then darts back out of range.
Lambada tries to score a power double leg takedown but Thomas sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Lambada somewhat.
Thomas bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Lambada's head backwards.


It looks like Lassi Lambada has been cut.
Thomas swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Lambada looks to land a combination but Thomas avoids it well.
Thomas looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Lambada is fending him off so far but Thomas persists. Nope, Lambada circles away and we're back to standing.
Thomas ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Lambada moves away.
Thomas takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Lambada tries to keep at a distance but Thomas has taken the fight into the clinch.
Lambada lands a body punch.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Lambada gets underhooks to prevent Thomas's takedown attempt.

Lambada has Thomas pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Lambada pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Thomas tumbling to the mat - Lambada dives into Thomas's guard.

Lambada stands and steps away. Thomas gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Thomas stalks Lambada and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Lambada's face. Lambada staggers backwards, shaken.
A combination from Thomas does no damage.
Lassi Lambada seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Thomas showing good head movement there, avoiding the strikes from Lambada.
Lambada moving in and out of range nicely, whilst landing the scoring shot.
Thomas tries to bum rush Lambada with a series of wild strikes but Lambada uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Lambada throws a big shot that misses.
Thomas rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Lambada moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Thomas throws an overhand right that lands on Lambada's shoulder, as Lambada tries to avoid the shot.
Lambada lands with a cross to side of his opponent's head.

Lambada rushes Thomas and presses him up against the cage.
Lambada lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Thomas backwards.
Lambada drops down looking for an ankle pick but Thomas pulls his leg out and moves away.
Lambada ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Thomas moves away.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lambada catches Thomas with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
This has been an exciting period of action!
Lambada ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lambada shoots in and drives through. Thomas sprawls well.
Din Thomas has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Lassi Lambada.
The fight stays on the outside here - Lambada looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Lambada on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Thomas looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Lambada shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Thomas napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Lambada just content to control the position.
Thomas is putting a lot of effort into getting back to his feet here.
Thomas is not content to let Lambada control the position.
Lambada tries to advance to mount but can't.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Thomas is looking for a sweep.
Lambada content to control the pace. The referee will try and keep them active though.
It looks like the ref is thinking about a standup.
Lambada wants to control but Thomas is keeping him busy.
Thomas is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Lambada keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The ref stands the fighters back up, due to lack of action by Lassi Lambada.
Lambada fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.
Lambada uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Thomas.
Lambada keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thomas on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.

Lambada gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Thomas blocks a couple of punches on the inside.
Thomas blocks a punch to the side of the head.
A nice right hand lands inside from Lambada.
Lambada lands a shoulder strike that jolts his opponent's head backwards.
Lambada doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Lambada throws a head punch that misses.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Lambada swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Thomas being controlled against the cage.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Lambada has hold of one of Thomas's legs. Thomas is fighting the takedown attempt but Lambada gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Lassi Lambada dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Lassi Lambada's cut.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Lambada avoids the body shot from Thomas.
Lambada throws out a loose jab but Thomas uses good head movement to avoid it.
A looping hook to the body misses from Thomas. Lambada does a little dance to reset his feet.
Thomas slips under a jab.
Thomas throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Lambada wants to clinch.
Lambada walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


Lambada is rocked!
Lambada takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Lambada is still on wobbly legs! Can Thomas finish him?
This has been an exciting period of action!
Thomas lands with a good body shot.
Lambada glances at the clock... BAM! Thomas nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Lambada crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Lambada is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:41 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Din Thomas!
Din Thomas was full of energy after the big win and talked about how he thinks he can do big things in this sport. The crowd were appreciative of his determination to succeed.
