Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dave Meyer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Smith (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Smith rushes Meyer and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Smith lands an elbow inside that Meyer shrugs off.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.

Smith breaks the clinch.
Smith lands a jab to the nose.

Smith gets a double leg takedown into Meyer's guard.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Smith wants to get up but he can't break Meyer's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Meyer is working hard here but doesn't seem to be able to control effectively, up against the cage.

Meyer tries a knee to the head but Smith blocks it.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Meyer goes for a takedown attempt but Smith pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Meyer seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.

Meyer is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Smith's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Smith's back!
Meyer doesn't have the hooks in and Smith manages to turn into his guard.
Smith tries to stand but Meyer is controlling from the bottom.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

John Smith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!

Meyer moves in looking to clinch but Smith pushes him off.

Smith fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Meyer has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Smith closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Meyer's guard.

Meyer has hold of Smith's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Smith manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.

Meyer is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Smith has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Smith!
