Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Dirk Anderson, Peter Branson and Santiago Holmes.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice sprawl there from Kelz as Thompson shoots in.
Thompson is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Kelz counters with a big head kick but Thompson shrugs it off.
Nate Kelz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Thompson.
Thompson closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Thompson lands in his opponent's guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Kelz pulls Thompson in close to his closed guard and prevents Thompson from doing any damage or advancing position.

Thompson thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Kelz might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Kelz has his foot on Thompson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thompson works his way back into a safe position though.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Thompson drops back looking for a leg! Kelz is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Kelz manages to kick Thompson off! Thompson jumps back into Kelz's guard.

Kelz wants to hit a switch here but Thompson passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Kelz there!
Thompson looking to control but Kelz is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Kelz regains half guard.
Kelz manages to get to full guard.

Thompson trying to control the position from guard on top but Kelz is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Kelz wants to sweep here but Thompson controlling him for the moment.
Thompson wants to control from the top but Kelz keeps moving.
The ref stands the fighters back up. Mike Thompson was stalling too much, according to the referee.
Thompson takes a body punch but keeps moving.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
A close round but Mike Thompson will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.
Thompson tries for a takedown but Kelz circles away easily
and Kelz counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Nate Kelz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Kelz stalks Thompson and leaps in with a furious combination of punches. Uppercuts and crosses smash into Thompson's face. Thompson staggers backwards, shaken.
Kelz moves into range and throws a lovely three punch combination.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Thompson shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Kelz as he jumps to the side.
Nate Kelz has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Mike Thompson.
Thompson is on the wrong end of a nice combination from Kelz.

Kelz lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Thompson.
Thompson shoots in looking for a takedown but Kelz manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Thompson's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Danga de danga de dang - Kelz scores with a four punch combination!
Nice body kick there by Kelz.
Thompson is breathing heavily.

and Kelz counters into the clinch. Nicely done.

Thompson tries for a takedown. No joy.

Thompson tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Thompson tries to score a body lock takedown but Kelz shows good agility there to stay on his feet.
Kelz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Thompson shoots in but Kelz avoids the takedown attempt easily.
This has been an exciting period of action!
Kelz scores with a nice looking left hook and follows it up with an uppercut!
Thompson blocks a head kick by Kelz.
Kelz tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Kelz throws a head kick that misses.
Thompson takes a kick to the side of the head.
Thompson avoids a punch combination nicely.
Kelz darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Kelz slows the pace down in half guard.
That's four minutes gone in the round.
Thompson is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Kelz pulls his head out easily.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Kelz decides to return to a standing position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Nate Kelz dominated that second round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!
Kelz pushes forward with a 1-2 combination that forces Thompson back to the cage. Kelz follows up with a solid lead hook to the liver.

and Kelz counters with a big head kick but Thompson shrugs it off.
A nice leg kick lands there from Kelz.
Thompson looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Kelz!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Thompson is working to tighten his grip on Kelz's neck. He's isolated an arm and is working for an arm triangle. Kelz has recognised the danger and is trying to turn with the submission but Thompson is really squeezing tight and eventually Kelz passes out! Thompson breaks the hold and jumps onto the cage to celebrate! Submission of the night, I'd say!
