Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Juha Koivikorpi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Joakim Nystroem (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A big left from Nystroem misses.
Nystroem thows a left - swing and a miss!
A telegraphed right hand from Nystroem misses the target.
Nystroem throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Nystroem shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Koivikorpi as he avoids it easily.

and Nystroem counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Koivikorpi's guard now.
Nystroem is pushing down on Koivikorpi's leg trying to pass to half guard. Koivikorpi is fighting to maintain full guard but Nystroem has managed to sneak the leg through.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Koivikorpi is in trouble now - Nystroem has advanced to mount!

Nystroem looking for an armbar but decides to keep the dominant position instead.

Nystroem is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Koivikorpi has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Koivikorpi!

Koivikorpi drops back looking for a leg! Nystroem is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Nystroem manages to kick Koivikorpi off! Koivikorpi jumps back into Nystroem's guard.

Koivikorpi thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.

Nystroem escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Koivikorpi gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.
Nystroem is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.
Nystroem has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.

Nystroem looking to break Koivikorpi's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Koivikorpi remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Nystroem will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!
