Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Jason Spezza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Magnus Landeskog!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Steve Smith and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Spezza throws a head kick that misses.

Landeskog has managed to clinch.
Spezza wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Landeskog lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Landeskog jumps guard but Spezza stands there with Landeskog around his waist. Landeskog gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

I was talking to Spezza's coach per-fight and he was telling me that they'd been working on the clinch in the runup to this fight.

The crowd are getting pretty annoyed with Spezza for his constant stalling in the clinch and are voicing their displeasure.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Spezza creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Landeskog tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Spezza manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.

Landeskog scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Magnus Landeskog seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Spezza breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Landeskog drives through with a takedown into Spezza's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Spezza utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Landeskog drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Spezza dives on top into guard.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Spezza got a little sloppy there for a moment and Landeskog has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Spezza has managed to get both his arms back between Landeskog's legs - danger averted.
Spezza tries to free his leg and advance position but Landeskog is retaining full guard.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

That was a close second round but I would say that Jason Spezza will probably get the nod.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Landeskog working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

I would just about give that final round to Magnus Landeskog.
I think Landeskog has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
