Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Flash Gordon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sun Wukong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gordon comes to the cage accompanied by Slipknot-The Blister Exists. Wukong is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I stand alone - Godsmack. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Flash Gordon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 8 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sun Wukong!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Stewart Dunkirk and Gwen Towbar.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gordon rushes Wukong and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Gordon is pushing Wukong up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.
Gordon unloads a knee to the mid-section.

Wukong works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.
Gordon is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Wukong throws a big right hand that misses.
Wukong trying to control but Gordon is working from the bottom.
Wukong trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.

Wukong stands up over Gordon, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

Wukong throws an elbow that misses. Gordon uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Wukong's guard. Nice move by Gordon!

Gordon wants to stand but Wukong has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Wukong has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

We've been told by Gordon's head coaches at Boomerang!! that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.

Gordon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Wukong to the ground. Gordon is now in Wukong's guard.

Gordon has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Wukong's head jolts backwards as he takes an uppercut right on the button!

Gordon digs a right hand underneath Wukong's ribcage. Wukong let out a lung full of air as it connected.
Gordon is pressed up against the cage. Wukong has hold of a leg and is looking to drag Gordon down to the mat. Gordon avoids the attempt though and has circled away. We're back to striking at a distance.
Flash Gordon has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Sun Wukong.
Gordon tries to clinch up but Wukong circles away and keeps his distance.

Gordon decides to take the fight back to the feet.

Gordon has closed the distance and engaged Wukong in a clinch.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Wukong wants to take the fight to the mat but Gordon manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Gordon creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.

Wukong has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.

Wukong gets tackled into the cage by Gordon. Gordon maintains the clinch.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Gordon gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Wukong.
Gordon lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.

Gordon seems to have come into the fight with the intention of avoiding any damage in the clinch, rather than actually showing any aggression.
Wukong is looking to take this one to the mat.
Wukong has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Gordon after a bit of a struggle.
Gordon tries to throw a body punch but Wukong avoids it by throwing Gordon back against the cage.
Wukong tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Gordon smiles and moves away.
Sun Wukong seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Wukong shoots for a double leg takedown but Gordon sprawls well. He's pushed Wukong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Gordon tries to bum rush Wukong with a series of wild strikes but Wukong uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Gordon wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd applaud the fighters efforts here as the round comes to an end.

Wukong is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

Well Gordon has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
