Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Danny Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brett Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Brett Jones has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Danny Hendricks!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Brett Jones!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Alec Ball and Elvis Blanc.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hendricks shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Jones napping and manages to drive through into side control!
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Hendricks is working Jones over with some ground and pound from side control.
You can see the frustration on Jones's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Jones gets back to half guard.
Hendricks takes advantage of the dominant position to land a couple of big hammer fists.
Jones wants to control but Hendricks is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Jones is looking to improve his position.
Jones makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Jones.
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hendricks doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hendricks manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Jones avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Hendricks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Jones has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hendricks has managed to get both his arms back between Jones's legs - danger averted.
Hendricks tries to free his leg and advance position but Jones is retaining full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Hendricks drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Hendricks jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Hendricks is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jones is just riding it out for now. Hendricks eventually gives up the hold.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jones is looking for a sweep. Hendricks is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hendricks connects with a nice short shot to Jones's temple.
Hendricks drops an elbow to the side of Jones's head.

Hendricks is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.
Hendricks wants to take a breather but Jones is having none of it.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Hendricks moves into range and clinches up with Jones.
Jones wants to take the fight to the mat but Hendricks manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Jones is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hendricks pulls his head out easily.

Hendricks is working for a kimura here but Jones manages to reverse the position and he's now in Hendricks's guard.
Hendricks is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Jones looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hendricks is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Jones!

Hendricks lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Jones is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Hendricks lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Hendricks breaks from Jones's wrist control and lands an elbow.

Jones is squirming around, avoiding Hendricks's attempts to control the action.

Hendricks is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Jones to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Jones shrugs it off.

BOOM! Hendricks connects with a massive shot to the dome!
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

Hendricks goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Jones is on top in guard.
Jones works over Hendricks with some ground and pound from guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Hendricks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jones tries to avoid it but Hendricks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jones to the ground. Jones escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jones pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Jones misses with a takedown

and Hendricks counters with a shoot takedown. Jones fights it but they end up in guard.
Hendricks is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Jones can do to turn this around?
Jones wants to control but instead he gets his guard passed and Hendricks is now in half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well Hendricks has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
