PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Scott Burns (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Long Dong (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dong is bobbing his head along to his entrance song: I'm Going In. Long Dong is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Long Dong!
The judges for this bout are Richard Clark, Andrew Berry and James Atkins.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Burns with a body punch. A glancing blow.
Burns closes this distance looking for a takedown but Dong circles away.
Dong takes a jab on the nose. He smiles like he loves it and keeps coming.
Dong shoots for a double leg takedown but Burns sprawls well. He's pushed Dong's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Burns moves into range and connects with a jab.

Burns gets caught flat footed, as Dong shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Burns is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Dong is controlling him.
Dong is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Burns keeping moving, preventing Dong from controlling successfully.
Burns pulls Dong in close to his closed guard and prevents Dong from doing any damage or advancing position.
Dong stopping the sweep attempt from Burns.

Dong drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Dong jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

Burns keeping moving, preventing Dong from controlling successfully.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Burns will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Dong fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Dong dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Burns. That did some damage!
Burns lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Burns cracks Dong with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Dong takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Dong looks gassed!

Burns rushes Dong and presses him up against the cage.
Burns tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Scott Burns. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Burns avoids the elbow strike from Dong, against the cage.

Dong breaks from the clinch.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Burns takes a kick to the side of the head.
Dong stuffs the takedown.
Burns punishes Dong's body with a nice straight punch.
Burns throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Burns misses with a double jab.
Dong fails with a takedown attempt.
Burns throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Dong.

Burns changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Dong looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Dong is trying to get back to half guard. He's pushing on Burns's leg. He's managed it. Nice work.
Dong is working for an escape here. He's hooked one of Burns's legs and he's managed to sneak out and take Burns's back!
Burns prevents Dong from getting a body triangle.
Burns looking to stop the rear naked choke attempt by controlling the hands.

What can Burns do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
You can see the frustration on Burns's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Burns trying to get back to his feet but Dong is in full control for now.
Dong throwing damaging strikes from the back! Burns could be in trouble here!
A lull in the action here.

Dong is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Burns is tapping out! This one is all over!
