Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Braulio Eskimo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Wanderlei Akiyama (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Eskimo comes to the cage accompanied by you're the best. Wanderlei Akiyama has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Braulio Eskimo!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Wanderlei Akiyama!
The judges for this bout are Paulo Santos, Alexandre Firmino and Felipe Paraventi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Eskimo shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Eskimo is looking to take a break and control but Akiyama is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Eskimo trying to mount his opponent but Akiyama defends it.
Akiyama is looking to improve his position.
Akiyama gets back to full guard.
Akiyama trying to keep a closed guard but Eskimo is proving a slippery customer.
Eskimo seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Eskimo looking to sit in guard and control but Akiyama gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Eskimo has his foot on Akiyama's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Akiyama works his way back into a safe position though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Eskimo tries to buck Akiyama off but Akiyama is having none of it.

Akiyama decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Eskimo shoots in looking for a takedown. Akiyama tries to sprawl out of it but Eskimo keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Akiyama manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Eskimo shoots in but Akiyama avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Eskimo is breathing heavily.

Akiyama shoots in and bounces Eskimo off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Akiyama trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
Akiyama wants to control from the top but Eskimo keeps moving.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Eskimo moves into range and clinches up with Akiyama.

Akiyama gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Eskimo regains guard.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Eskimo had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Akiyama is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Eskimo Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Akiyama's back instead.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Akiyama rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
Akiyama is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Akiyama is persisting with the attempt to improve his position.

Eskimo content to sit in half guard and control for a moment.

Eskimo decides to return to a standing position.

Akiyama shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Akiyama showed some decent athleticism there.

Eskimo looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Eskimo is looking to control Akiyama's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Eskimo avoid being mounted?

Eskimo tries to get to full guard but Akiyama has control of the leg.
Eskimo wants to control the action here but instead Akiyama manages to pass to full mount!

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Akiyama is landing with some decent strikes but Eskimo is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Eskimo bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Wanderlei Akiyama showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Eskimo is pushing down on Akiyama's leg trying to pass to half guard. Akiyama is fighting to maintain full guard but Eskimo has managed to sneak the leg through.

and Akiyama counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Akiyama.

Eskimo can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Akiyama controls the pace.
Eskimo wants to sweep but no luck.
Akiyama is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Eskimo is taking a break and basically stalling. The referee will not allow him to do that for long.
Akiyama will have to put a bit more behind his punches if he's going to do any damage from this position.

Wanderlei Akiyama comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Akiyama has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
