The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Buchanan misses with a hook
and Astronomer counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Buchanan looks to score with a jab to the body but Astronomer is just out of range.
Astronomer tries a low kick but Buchanan avoids it.
Astronomer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Buchanan counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Buchanan throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.

Buchanan gets a takedown into half guard.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Astronomer is looking to control Buchanan's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Astronomer avoid being mounted?
Buchanan wants to take a breather but Astronomer is having none of it.

Buchanan is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Astronomer has managed to free his arm - good work.
Astronomer is doing well to control the position and prevent Buchanan from advancing to side control.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Astronomer pulls Buchanan in close to his closed guard and prevents Buchanan from doing any damage or advancing position.
Buchanan stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Astronomer swivels though and keeps the full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Buchanan shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Astronomer is trying to defend but Buchanan finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
