Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mladenov in particular looking to stall.
It looks like Mladenov might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
Mladenov seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Simpson is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Mladenov scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Mladenov thows a huge punch but Simpson dodges it nicely.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Mladenov connects with a nice short shot to Simpson's temple.

Mladenov has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Simpson is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Mladenov yanks on the arm and Simpson is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Mladenov.
