Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Riley Beaudin!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Formidable Opponent!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Tarja Halkonen and Roosa Järviläinen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Beaudin misses with a few strikes there.
Beaudin will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Opponent uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Beaudin.

Opponent darts in and clinches Beaudin up against the cage.
Beaudin tries to break the clinch but Opponent is controlling the position.
Beaudin wants to get back to striking at distance but Opponent won't allow it.
Beaudin misses with a hook to the ribs.
Opponent tries to land knees in the clinch but Beaudin avoids the damage to the body.
Opponent tries to stall but Beaudin uses the opportunity to gain a better position.

Beaudin breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Beaudin avoids the head kick by Opponent.
Beaudin throws a hard body shot but it just misses.

Beaudin gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Opponent throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Beaudins head.
Opponent scores with a knee to the head.
Opponent blocks a punch to the side of the head.
Both guys are working to get underhooks.
The is referee keeping an eye on Opponent - much more stalling and he will separate the fighters.
Opponent drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Opponent fails to pull the fight into his guard.

Opponent is trying to trip Beaudin. He has hold of a leg but Beaudin is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Opponent persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Beaudin wants to stand up but Opponent is controlling him.
Opponent trying to control but Beaudin is working from the bottom.

Beaudin looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Opponent puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
Beaudin is staying active underneath Opponent, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Beaudin shoots in and bounces Opponent off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Opponent connects with a solid leg kick.

Beaudin clinches with his opponent.
Opponent throws an elbow but it misses.
Opponent is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Opponent lands an elbow inside that Beaudin shrugs off.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Riley Beaudin will probably get the nod.
That's time! Beaudin's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


The fighters circling - Beaudin throws out the jab but it was never going to land.

Some stalling of biblical proportions here from Opponent.

Opponent is fighting off a takedown attempt but Beaudin is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Opponent to the mat. Opponent regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.

You get the feeling that Beaudin really doesn't like being in this position too much.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Beaudin is trying to escape but when you're mounted that's not too easy.
Opponent wants to control the pace but Beaudin is squirming around nicely.
Beaudin's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Opponent throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Beaudin's waist but Beaudin gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Opponent off to one side.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Beaudin misses with a takedown attempt - Opponent sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Riley Beaudin seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Opponent fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Beaudin sprawls well initially but Opponent persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Beaudin wants to get back to full guard but Opponent has mounted him!

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Riley Beaudin.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Beaudin, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
