Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Tom Rodriguez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marco Hammer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hammer has chosen Kuningas Pähkinä & Setä Tamu - Hei Scully as his entrance music. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.

With a record of 6 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Tom Rodriguez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Marco Hammer!
The judges for this bout are Alexandre Firmino, Leandro Rodrigues and Matheus Silva.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rodriguez keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Hammer.
Hammer looks really tired already! That doesn't bode well for a good, competitive fight!
Hammer throws a jab but it's blocked by Rodriguez.

Hammer closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hammer lands in his opponent's guard.

Rodriguez had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Hammer defends it easily.
Rodriguez manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Hammer manages to get himself to full guard.
Rodriguez postures up and lands a big shot to Hammer's brow.
Rodriguez is looking to stand up but Hammer won't let him.

Rodriguez is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Rodriguez throws a strike but Hammer rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Rodriguez working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Hammer doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Hammer manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Rodriguez escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Hammer gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Hammer wants to stand and escape but instead Rodriguez has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Hammer really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Rodriguez. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Rodriguez wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hammer, who protects the arm well.

Rodriguez has hold of Hammer's arm here. He's working for an Americana. It looks like he might have it! Hammer tries to escape but he's just digging himself in deeper - Rodriguez cranks the arm and Hammer screams in pain! The ref makes a decision and ends the fight before the tap - no complains from Hammer, who is just happy to have his arm attached to his body.
