The judges for this bout are Donald Grub, Andrew Berry and Colin Fotheringham.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Thorenborn closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Bridges is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Bridges tries to get to full guard but Thorenborn has control of the leg.
Thorenborn tries to pass to full mount but Bridges defends it.
Bridges wants to get back to full guard.

Thorenborn won't allow Bridges to sweep him here.
Thorenborn must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Thorenborn wants to control from the top but Bridges keeps moving.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Thorenborn postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Bridges keeping moving, preventing Thorenborn from controlling successfully.
Thorenborn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Bridges. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Bridges trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Bridges will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

OK we're going to have a standup here. Garry Thorenborn hasn't been effective enough on the ground and the referee wants a restart.
Thorenborn shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Bridges defends it nicely.
Bridges stuffs the takedown attempt from Thorenborn. Thorenborn gets slowly back to his feet.
Garry Thorenborn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Bridges lands a head kick. Thorenborn smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Thorenborn fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Bridges manages to avoid it.
Bridges pivots, looking for a leg kick but Thorenborn is out of range and Bridges settles back down.
Thorenborn dives in for a single leg takedown but Bridges sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Teddy Bridges has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Garry Thorenborn.
Bridges jumps guard but Thorenborn turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Bridges has his foot on Thorenborn's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Thorenborn works his way back into a safe position though.

Thorenborn shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Thorenborn was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Thorenborn cracks Bridges with an elbow. That is naaassty.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Bridges is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Thorenborn has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Thorenborn thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.
Bridges tries to escape but Thorenborn is in control.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Bridges is positioning himself to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Garry Thorenborn dominated that round.

Thorenborn dives in and gets a big takedown. He lands in full mount and immediately unloads a series of heavy strikes! Bridges has had enough and taps out.

After winning the bout, Garry Thorenborn thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
